William R. Mahaffey, Ph.D
|

|
Dr. Mahaffey is the founder and President of Pelorus. A microbiologist and biochemist, he has 25 years of international experience with environmental issues related to organic pollutants in the environment. He has consulted throughout the United States, Japan and Europe. Dr. Mahaffey has served on numerous governmental and industry advisory boards as a recognized expert in the field of bioremediation. He currently serves as an international consultant on bioremediation initiatives for the Swedish National Oil Stockpile Agency, The Japan Research Institute, and the Japan Environmental Agency. As part of the DOE initiative to begin bringing innovative technologies to field implementation, Dr. Mahaffey serves as a Technical Advisor to the DOE through Sandia National Laboratories for a field demonstration program involving Rotary Steam Drilling and In Situ Anaerobic Bioremediation. He has managed major remediation projects for Amoco Oil Corporation, Condea Vista Chemical Corp, Union Pacific Rail Road, Chevron, Koppers, Unocal, Phillips Petroleum and Pipe Line, Colorado Department of Transportation, Time Oil Company, Texaco.

Philip M. DiGrazia, Ph.D.

Dr. DiGrazia is a chemical engineer with a diverse background in the environmental consulting industry and most recently, the biotechnology industry. He has managed the development and implementation of innovative bioreactor treatment systems as well as in situ bioremediation processes. His extensive mathematical modeling background enables Pelorus to provide our clients with analytical or numerical model solutions for understanding the fate and transport dynamics in impacted aquifers. As a program manager he has developed and tested a vapor phase treatment system for the Boeing Company and implemented a bioreactor treatment process for treating TCE impacted groundwater at the DOE, Savannah River Site. Most recently, he has been involved in the development and commercialization of a biological desulfurization process for petroleum products. He has consulted in the U.S. and extensively in Europe.

Vincent E. Barlock, P.G.

Mr. Barlock is a professionally registered geologist and hydrogeologist with over 19 years of experience in environmental and geological consulting. Experience has included the management and technical oversight of multiple hydrogeologic, bioremediation and chemical oxidation projects throughout the United States and Japan. He has extensive management and technical remedial experience with: chlorinated solvents and LNAPL & DNAPL-impacted groundwater and fractured-bedrock Sites; design and management of in-situ injection treatment and hydraulic fracturing systems; large natural gas due-diligence transactions; CERCLA- and RCRA-regulated groundwater, storm, and surface water monitoring programs. As director, he has had direct responsibility for the design and implementation of groundwater remedial/corrective action plans; remedial investigation feasibility studies at WMUs; regional faulting and landslide investigation studies; environmental and geotechnical litigation support; detailed engineering-geologic mapping of engineered cut-slopes and landfill sub-grades; MPE/MCE evaluations; and NEPA and wetland delineation studies.
